Some of you have come up to me in the past and asked what the deal was with that "bug" tattoo on my leg.

Rob Thomas, Brandon Boyd, Mike Watt, Jorge Garcia, Evangeline Lilly, Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, Dweezle and Moon Zappa and countless other musicians, actors, producers etc. have admired this piece before you. Countless more will ask, and most will appreciate the story that I have been telling for the past 13 years.

When my son was young I would tell him about Nanabozho, the trickster, and how he would fool the humans into doing his biddings. Not because he was bad, but because he loved the humans and wanted to teach them a valuable lesson.

At the age of five, my son drew this telling me it was the trickster. It has been a part of me ever since, and is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received. It has sparked so many interesting conversations with complete strangers some of whom turned into lifelong friends.

I try to embrace this tattoo as a constant reminder not to take myself too seriously, and that the work of a child will always be more interesting than what I could ever do. So keep one spot open on the refrigerator and learn the lesson your own way.
